Steps
- Open the ban notice.
- Choose the age appeal.
- Follow the ID or selfie steps.
What to do first
Here is the fuller version, step by step.
- Open TikTok on the phone you normally use. Go to Profile, the menu, Settings and privacy, then Account status (on some versions it sits under Account).
- Each violation listed there shows the reason and, for most, an Appeal button. Appeal the ones you think are wrong, one at a time.
- If the app shows a banned-account screen when you open it, use the appeal option on that screen.
- For a hack, go to Settings and privacy, Report a problem, then Account and profile, and choose the hacked option. If you cannot log in, use TikTok's online feedback form.
- Turn off any VPN and use your usual network while you do this.
What to have ready
- Screenshots of Account status and the ban notice.
- For hacks: the original email or phone and any TikTok change emails.
- Your username and the email or phone on the account.
- The device you first signed up on, if you still have it.
How to word it
- In the appeal box, say which video or action you think was misread and why, in one or two sentences.
- Avoid long explanations; TikTok's appeal form gives limited space.
- If someone else used the account, say so and give the approximate date.
Things that slow it down
- Paying for 'unban' services that ask for your password.
- Making a new account during a ban; TikTok can ban linked accounts.
- Using a third-party app that promises followers or likes.
After you send it
- Watch the inbox in the app and the email on the account.
- If refused, request your data from Settings and privacy, Account, Download your data, while the option is open.
- If the appeal is accepted, the violation is removed from Account status.
When to ask for help
- The account is a creator account with income at stake.
- There is no appeal button left.
- The account was hacked and the email and phone were changed.
What to send
- Your username or profile link.
- A screenshot of the notice or error, with the date visible.
- Which email or phone is on the account (just which one, never a code).
- What happened before it started, in a few lines.
Please do not send passwords, login codes, card numbers or access tokens.
How it works with Ban Help
- Message us on WhatsApp or email with the username and a screenshot of the notice.
- We tell you honestly whether this is something we can help with. Terms are agreed with you before any work starts.
- We prepare the appeal and the supporting details, to go through the platform’s own channels.
- We stay in touch while you wait. The platform makes the final decision, and nobody can promise the outcome.
